Job Title: Borrower Relations and Recovery Officer
Job Location: Ikeja
Employment Type: Full-time

Company Benefits

Basic Salary: ₦75,000 (subject to review based on experience)

Bonuses: Daily and weekly performance-based bonuses (up to ₦20,000)

Phone Compensation: Airtime & data allowance

Training: Customer relationship management, loan servicing, and recovery training, plus transport subsidies

Salary Review: Eligible for salary review after 3 months and again after 6 months

Year-End Bonus: Annual performance bonus for outstanding performance

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with borrowers to encourage timely loan repayments.
  • Manage due, overdue, and defaulted loan accounts to ensure effective recovery.
  • Contact borrowers via calls, SMS, email, and approved digital channels for follow-ups and support.
  • Negotiate repayment plans, settlements, and flexible solutions to improve recovery outcomes.
  • Monitor assigned loan portfolios and track borrower engagement and repayment performance.
  • Identify early signs of delinquency and implement proactive engagement strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of borrower interactions and repayment status on the loan management system.
  • Conduct skip tracing for unreachable borrowers where necessary.
  • Escalate high-risk or severely delinquent accounts for advanced recovery or legal action.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly borrower relations and recovery reports.
  • Collaborate with credit, risk, and operations teams to improve borrower experience and reduce defaults.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of loan recovery, borrower relationship management, and credit processes.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet recovery targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan management systems.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Must own a smartphone (Android or iPhone).
