A startup requiring a Cyber Security Tutor

We are seeking a passionate Cybersecurity professional to protect our digital assets, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen our security posture. You will play a key role in identifying vulnerabilities, preventing cyber threats, and educating our team on best security practices in a dynamic e-learning and content-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and protect networks, systems, applications, and cloud infrastructure against cyber threats.

Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.

Implement and manage security tools (firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, etc.).

Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

Ensure data protection and compliance with relevant standards (NDPR, GDPR, ISO 27001, etc.).

Secure our e-learning platforms, user databases, and digital content repositories.

Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and awareness training for staff.

Manage access controls, endpoint security, and backup/recovery strategies.

Stay updated on emerging threats, attack vectors, and security trends relevant to the education/tech sector.

Collaborate with the IT and content teams to integrate security into new projects and workflows.

Requirements & Qualifications

1–5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity or information security.

Relevant certifications are highly valued: CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM, OSCP, or equivalent.

Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and endpoint protection.

Experience with security tools such as Wireshark, Nessus, Splunk, or similar.

Solid understanding of threat modeling, risk assessment, and incident response.

Familiarity with data protection laws in Nigeria (NDPR) is a strong advantage.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
