Location: Lagos, Nigeria.
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer / Managing Director
Job Summary
The Corporate Accountant will oversee the daily financial health of the investment company. This includes financial reporting, budget management, tax planning, and maintaining the integrity of proprietary and client-managed fund accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with IFRS standards.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate payroll, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Track corporate and client asset portfolios, computing capital gains, dividends, and investment yields.
- Ensure timely processing and filing of all statutory tax obligations (e.g., VAT, WHT, CIT) with local tax authorities.
- Coordinate with investment teams to manage liquid cash allocations, treasury assets, and corporate budgetary controls.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Professional accounting designation (ACA or ACCA) is required or near completion.
- Minimum of 5 years of core accounting experience, preferably within an investment firm, asset management company, or financial services ecosystem.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
