Data Science Tutor

A startup needing a Data Science Tutor.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Data Science Tutor to teach students the complete fundamentals of Data Science. You will guide beginners through data analysis and visualization up to intermediate machine learning, helping them build real-world projects and gain confidence to work as junior data analysts or data scientists.

Key Responsibilities

Teach foundational Data Science concepts: statistics, probability, data wrangling, exploratory data analysis (EDA), and data storytelling.

Deliver hands-on training using Python for Data Science (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly).

Teach SQL for data querying and database fundamentals.

Introduce Machine Learning basics using Scikit-learn: regression, classification, clustering, model evaluation, and deployment basics.

Guide students through end-to-end projects such as sales analysis, customer segmentation, predictive modeling, sentiment analysis, and interactive dashboards.

Teach data visualization best practices and tools like Power BI or Tableau (basics).

Create structured lesson plans, coding exercises, assignments, quizzes, and capstone projects.

Conduct live classes, practical workshops, code reviews, and one-on-one mentoring sessions.

Help students build strong portfolios and prepare for real-world data roles or freelance opportunities.

Stay updated with current trends in Data Science, AI, and new tools/libraries.

Requirements & Qualifications

1–5 years of practical experience in Data Science or Analytics.

Strong mastery of Python for Data Science (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and SQL.

Solid understanding of statistics, machine learning fundamentals, and data visualization.

Previous teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience is a strong advantage.

Ability to explain complex mathematical and technical concepts in a simple, beginner-friendly manner.

Portfolio of Data Science projects (GitHub or personal portfolio required) — must include notebooks and visualizations.

Experience with Jupyter Notebook, Google Colab, and version control (Git).

Excellent communication, patience, and passion for teaching.

Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field is an advantage (strong practical experience is prioritized).
