Production, respectful and collaborative work environment

Challenges per day differ based on customers' demand in a manage service project; especially Mondays/Tuesdays. I learned how to prioritize my tasks, what the business wants and how to achieve my KPIs. The workplace culture is very awesome and the hardest part was when Huawei wanted to take over the project; then we started overtime which the project couldn't pay for but we didn't stop due to nonpayment. The most enjoyable part is the flexibility to work remotely when cases demand.

Leap

It is a multi-cultural environment where tolerance is practiced. The key word in Nokia is LEAP; which translate to Leadership, Execution, Accountability and Performance.

Pros

Free Transportation home during odd hours

Worked for Alcatel-Lucent which was later acquired by NOKIA

Management inherited from Nokia will eventually sink this ship. A ton of regional roles/managers that contribute nothing to the business' growth. Overbloated structure with very poor/low incentives for local staff.

As an undergraduate given an opportunity to be a Nokia brand ambassador, it was a most exciting experience and great atmosphere to learn and develop.

Best Place to work

Laid back but very busy. Typical technological environment. Open seating arrangement, at least in Africa. I am not sure of what the arrangement looks like here in the US

Productive, relaxed and friendly

A typical day is busy meeting clients (mobile telephone operators), making conference calls, preparing proposals for clients, following up on ongoing projects, payments and writing reports. I learned negotiation skills, customer relationship and internal job relationships in a very friendly work environment, challenging sales activities but traveling a lot to meet other people.

Pros

The best accomodation and transport provided

Cons

challenging sales targets

Good place to work with little training challenges

Few months I worked with Nokia, I can say that it is good place to work. Welfare of staff in terms of compensation and remuneration is commendable. As a support Engineer, Normal working 8 hours (8:00am - 5_00pm) is not normally maintained, Over time and weekend work are always observed, but attract allowances. In terms of staff training, the company needs to improve on their commitment to staff training. Access to training is some how difficult. Learning on the job is always the case.

Pros

Renumeration and allowances are commendable

Cons

Training of staff needs some improvement.
