Most of the tools needed to carry out my tasks were made available and trainings were held for the ones that are not well known to me.
Most of the tools needed to carry out my tasks were made available and trainings were held for the ones that are not well known to me.. Also, manageing Senior, level and junior stakeholders was a great experience. However, i was able to help keep the organisation standard of proceess, procedure and ethics in place
A typical day was the first day i made a presentation, it was challenging but eventually, i scaled through. I have learned about keeping time and working with a budget Management is an open system, where you are allowed to contribute to any meeting. Workplace culture is about team spirit, seeing everybody as somebody. Training of local farmers on the need for a business plan and record keeping. Making sure that farmers sell their produce at the right price so that they can provide for their families.

Is Indeed your favorite place to learn about companies?
International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is a company that are into crop production and research. With my little time of working with the company, I can boldly say that it has a conducive environment and maximum security with health insurance. Thou its a stressful work because 90% of workers are always working on the field planting, harvesting, clearing and many more. In general, my review is that, it is a nice place to work.
Stress work: working under sun
Working in IITA is god one of the best place to work because of facilities and world class research project. It is multicultural environment with over 1400 general staff and more than 150 international staff. I am proud to be a staff there
moderate hours 8hours
Resume is at 7:30am, i am on campus before 7am, start my day by going through emails, give daily report to my Boss, handle day to day administrative duties, make sure i fulfill all my Boss needs as required in due time. Learning new skills at such a short period and delivering beyond expectations was one of the challenges. Enjoyable part of the job was my being able to freely express myself which fully aided my productivity.
Free lunches, full access to recreational areas.
My days at IITA were wonderful, the co-workers are wonderful, the environment is so conducive and i hope someday i will be giving another opportunity to work with them again and again
Healthcare, sport availability, a conducive study environ and others
my job as a researcher is higly intersting with new things to lear everyday and also time to take care of my family
My day at work always busy one, many work related mails to attend to and books, journals to be read with a view to bringing out important developmental issues amenable to my research focus. its is highly a team oriented kind of working environment. Essentially, a multicultural setting with people of diverse cultures and background to relate with. However, the most challenging aspect of the work is the fact that it requires traveling. Networking is an integral part of a successful research career, hence I have really enjoyed the fact that my several national and international trips have allowed me to meet other people from difference countries across the globe.
It is an area that exposes me to different developmental issues in othervregions, countries and continets across the globe
Some how stressful, requiring several hours at work, and in most cases no holiday as one seems to work round the clock, it also involves extensive travelling
Dedication with perseverance.Sacrificial labour, management is superb, meeting the intellectuals.the indigens are greedy and bias in their dealings, the internet facilities are stable with power energy and the environment are neat and beautiful to behold.
free lunches and recreation
healthcare and short break
