KEY RESPOSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and manage patients appropriately within the scope of practice.
  • Develop and implement appropriate treatment and management plans.
  • Request and interpret relevant laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
  • Monitor patients' clinical progress and adjust treatment plans where necessary.
  • Identify and promptly escalate cases requiring specialist or consultant intervention.
  • Provide appropriate emergency and first-line medical care when required.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient medical records.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of consultations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and follow-up care.
  • Communicate medical findings and treatment plans clearly to patients and their relatives where appropriate.
  • Promote patient education and provide appropriate counselling on treatment, medication, lifestyle, and preventive care.
  • Work collaboratively with Consultants, Nurses, Pharmacists, Radiographers, Laboratory Scientists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in ward rounds, clinical reviews, case discussions, and other departmental activities.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Adhere to hospital clinical protocols, policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development activities.
  • Perform other clinical duties as assigned by the Medical Director or supervising Consultant.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent medical degree.
  • Completion of the NYSC programme.
  • Current registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Valid and current practising licence.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years post-NYSC clinical experience in a hospital or similar healthcare setting.
  • Sound knowledge of general medicine and common medical conditions.
  • Demonstrable ability to assess, diagnose, manage, and appropriately refer patients.
  • Strong clinical documentation and communication skills.
  • Good computer literacy and familiarity with electronic medical records is an advantage.

Pay: ₦400,000.00 - ₦500,000.00 per month
