Job Summary

Our client in the hospitality industry is seeking a customer-focused, professional, and energetic Waiter/Waitress to join its restaurant service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, taking and processing orders accurately, coordinating effectively with the kitchen and bar teams, maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness, and ensuring guests have a positive dining experience.

The successful candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, good grooming, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities:Guest Service & Hospitality

• Welcome and attend to guests in a warm, courteous, and professional manner.
• Present menus and provide accurate information about food and beverage options.
• Take guests' food and beverage orders accurately and promptly.
• Provide attentive and personalised service throughout the guest's dining experience.
• Respond professionally to guest questions, requests, and special requirements.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly address service concerns.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate unresolved issues to the Restaurant Manager.

Order Management & Service

• Accurately communicate food and beverage orders to the kitchen and bar teams.
• Follow up on orders to ensure timely and accurate service.
• Serve food and beverages according to established service standards.
• Check orders before serving to ensure they are complete and accurate.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to minimise delays and service errors.
• Clear and reset tables promptly and appropriately.
• Present bills accurately and process payments where required.

Restaurant Operations

• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and proper presentation of assigned tables and service areas.
• Ensure tables are properly set before guests are seated.
• Assist with opening and closing restaurant duties.
• Maintain adequate supplies of menus, cutlery, napkins, and other service items.
• Follow established restaurant procedures, service standards, and operational guidelines.
• Support colleagues during busy periods to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

Customer Experience

• Build positive relationships with guests and provide attentive service.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience.
• Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, ingredients, promotions, and available alternatives.
• Handle special guest requests with professionalism and discretion.
• Maintain a positive, welcoming, and service-oriented attitude at all times.

Hygiene, Safety & Compliance

• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene, health, and workplace safety requirements.
• Handle food, beverages, utensils, and service equipment responsibly.
• Report spills, hazards, damaged equipment, or other safety concerns promptly.
• Follow company policies and procedures relating to customer service, conduct, and workplace standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a restaurant, hotel, lounge, café, or similar hospitality environment is preferred.
• Candidates with strong customer-service experience and the right attitude may also be considered.
• Must be willing to work rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Working Conditions

• Work is primarily performed within the restaurant, dining, and service areas.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
• May require working during peak service periods and under pressure.
• May work weekends, public holidays, evenings, and rotational shifts based on operational requirements.
• Requires frequent interaction with guests, kitchen staff, bar staff, supervisors, and other departments.

Pay

₦120,000.00 – ₦150,000.00 per month + Service Charge
