Insight7 is a conversational intelligence and AI coaching platform built for customer experience and sales teams. We help organizations stop losing institutional knowledge and turn every customer conversation into a compounding intelligence asset.

Our six core products: Call Intelligence (AI call scoring and QA automation), AI Coaching & Roleplay, Live Assist, Knowledge Base, Mobile App (AI communication coaching), and Chatbots (custom AI agents for business workflows).

We operate across the US and Nigerian markets with a remote-first team spanning North America and Africa. If you want to work at the intersection of AI, conversation data, and go-to-market performance this is the role.

The Role

We're looking for a senior back-end developer to join our full-stack engineering team. Speed matters, but strategy matters more. We need someone who can think through overall system design, anticipate scale, and make deliberate architectural choices that carry us through the next phase of growth.

You'll work across our platform's core infrastructure from APIs powering our call intelligence and AI coaching products to the data pipelines behind our knowledge base and live assist features. You'll collaborate closely across our Product and Customer pods, shipping features that directly affect real revenue and real customer outcomes.

Requirements & Skills

  • Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years of back-end development experience for production web platforms
  • Strong command of at least one object-oriented or systems language
  • Creative problem-solver who thinks in systems, not just features
  • Excellent communication skills you can explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
  • A self-directed learner who keeps pace with a fast-moving AI and infrastructure landscape

Experience

  • Product-minded: you ask why before how and you care how impact gets measured
  • Proficiency in back-end languages and frameworks including Node.js, Python, Golang, or Java/JEE
  • Strong foundation in API design, data modelling, and building for scale
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, and data pipeline architecture
  • Comfort working with AI/ML APIs and LLM-powered features is a strong plus — our platform is AI-native
  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (React, JavaScript, HTML5/CSS3) sufficient to collaborate with full-stack teammates
  • Experience with conversation intelligence platforms, call analytics, or CX/sales tech is a meaningful advantage

Bonus Points

  • You've mentored teammates and raised the technical bar around you
  • You've built or contributed to AI-powered products especially anything involving audio, transcription, or real-time data
  • You've worked in or built for enterprise sales or CX teams and understand the workflow context
  • Startup experience - comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and wearing multiple hats
