EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE CEO

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Employment Type: Full-Time | Hybrid

OVERVIEW

The Executive Assistant to the CEO serves as a strategic partner within the Office of the CEO, ensuring the Chief Executive operates at maximum effectiveness by seamlessly managing executive operations, enabling informed decision-making, and driving cross-functional coordination.

This role extends far beyond traditional executive support. The successful candidate acts as the CEO's trusted right hand—anticipating needs, conducting research, synthesizing complex information, identifying opportunities, resolving operational challenges, and ensuring strategic priorities receive the attention they require.

Working closely with the Chief of Staff, CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and stakeholders across the organisation, the Executive Assistant will combine exceptional organisational capability with analytical thinking, sound judgment, and a strong bias for execution. Success requires intellectual curiosity, discretion, adaptability, and the ability to leverage AI tools to improve productivity and decision-making across the Office of the CEO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESExecutive Operations & Office Management

  • Manage the CEO's calendar, scheduling, and daily priorities to maximise strategic impact.
  • Coordinate executive meetings, prepare agendas, capture action items, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Oversee domestic and international travel arrangements, accommodation, logistics, expense management, and vendor coordination.
  • Maintain organised documentation, executive records, and institutional knowledge.

Strategic Research & Executive Support

  • Conduct market, industry, competitor, regulatory, and technology research relevant to electric mobility, battery technology, and African markets.
  • Analyse and synthesise complex information into concise executive briefings and recommendations.
  • Prepare board papers, investor materials, strategic reports, presentations, and briefing documents.
  • Identify emerging risks, opportunities, operational bottlenecks, and strategic decisions requiring executive attention.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives led by the CEO.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Legal, Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Strategy teams to drive CEO priorities.
  • Monitor progress of executive initiatives and ensure accountability across departments.
  • Facilitate communication between leadership teams and resolve cross-functional coordination challenges.
  • Track deliverables and follow through on strategic action plans.

Executive Communications & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage executive correspondence and draft communications on behalf of the CEO.
  • Coordinate interactions with investors, board members, strategic partners, government agencies, and key external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely, professional, and confidential communication across internal and external audiences.
  • Protect the CEO's brand through high-quality written communication.

AI Integration & Process Improvement

  • Leverage AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other productivity tools to improve research, analysis, documentation, and decision support.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve executive efficiency.
  • Develop scalable systems and processes that enhance the effectiveness of the Office of the CEO.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that optimise executive operations.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

  • Work closely with the Chief of Staff to execute organisational priorities.
  • Partner with Executive Leadership to coordinate strategic initiatives and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams to support executive projects.
  • Engage with investors, board members, external partners, and key stakeholders on behalf of the CEO.
  • Serve as a central coordination point for initiatives requiring executive oversight.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance, Law, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and modern productivity platforms.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • High level of digital literacy and willingness to adopt emerging technologies.
  • Practical experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms to improve productivity and decision-making.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2–4 years' experience supporting C-suite executives, founders, or senior leadership teams.
  • Experience working within startups, high-growth organisations, consulting firms, or fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research, analyse information, and prepare executive-level reports.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with investor relations, fundraising processes, corporate governance, or board administration is an advantage.
  • Exposure to emerging technologies, clean energy, electric mobility, or African markets is desirable.
  • Proven ability to build systems, improve processes, and operate with minimal supervision.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The Executive Assistant operates within the Office of the CEO in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment requiring frequent interaction with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.

The role combines strategic planning, executive support, research, project coordination, and operational execution. The successful candidate must be comfortable balancing multiple priorities, working across time zones, handling confidential information, and adapting quickly to changing business needs while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
