Full job description

CoreHR Consulting is hiring on behalf of a leading furniture and wood retail business with showrooms along the Lekki–Epe corridor of Lagos. The business is expanding and we are recruiting Storekeepers to take charge of stock and inventory at the branches.

What's On Offer
Salary: ₦170,000 monthly
Location: Lekki–Epe Corridor (between Eleganza and Eleko), Lagos
Working Hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00am – 6:00pm
Resumption: Immediately

About the Role
As a Storekeeper, you will be the front line of inventory accountability — receiving stock, recording every movement, conducting regular counts, and protecting the business from stock loss. This role does not handle cash; the focus is entirely on stock integrity, accuracy, and accountability. We are looking for disciplined, detail-driven individuals with a verifiable track record of running clean stock records.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Receive incoming stock and verify quantities, item codes, and condition against delivery notes before signing off.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory records using stock registers and Excel-based / inventory software.
  • Issue stock against approved sales orders or dispatch notes only — never on verbal instruction.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and reconcile against records.
  • Investigate and document any variances; escalate unexplained losses to the Branch Manager immediately.
  • Ensure all stock is properly arranged, labelled, and stored to prevent damage or theft.
  • Coordinate with Sales Representatives on product availability for customer sales.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all goods leaving the premises (customer dispatch, inter-branch transfers).
  • Provide a complete written handover during leave, shift changes, or transitions — no abandoning post.
  • Submit accurate stock reports to the Branch Manager daily, weekly, and monthly.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of HND or BSc, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply, Economics, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years' demonstrable experience in storekeeping, inventory, warehousing, or stock control.
  • Strong sense of accountability, integrity, and personal responsibility — this is the core of the role.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and comfort with routine, repetitive record-keeping.
  • Strong numerical accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for inventory records.
  • Physical fitness — the role involves handling and moving furniture items.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and professional conduct around notice and handover.
  • Experience in furniture, building materials, or FMCG retail is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with a verifiable track record of stock accuracy and zero unexplained losses will be prioritised.
  • Preference for candidates residing within or able to easily commute to the Lekki–Epe corridor.
