Job summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst with accounting experience to collect, analyze, and interpret financial and operational data. The successful candidate will support management decision-making through accurate financial reporting, data analysis, budgeting support, and performance tracking.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, organize, clean, and analyze financial, accounting, and operational data.
  • Prepare financial reports, management reports, dashboards, and data summaries.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, cash flow, budgets, profitability, and financial performance.
  • Reconcile financial data and identify discrepancies, errors, unusual transactions, and trends.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and automated reporting tools.
  • Use data analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve business performance.
  • Work with the accounting and finance teams to ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial records.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Prepare reports using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or other relevant analytical tools.
  • Maintain proper documentation and ensure the confidentiality of financial and business information.
  • Support audits and other financial reviews by providing accurate data and supporting documentation.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of an HND in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Proven years of relevant experience in data analysis, accounting, financial reporting, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, lookup functions, formulas, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools is an added advantage.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and present findings in clear, understandable reports.
  • Close attention to detail, accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Professional accounting qualifications such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN will be an added advantage.
