Full job description
Job Summary:
The Instrument Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of instrumentation and control equipment by performing installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities. The role supports safe, efficient, and uninterrupted plant operations while complying with company procedures and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Install, calibrate, inspect, and maintain process instrumentation and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and related equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records.
- Comply with all HSE policies, permit-to-work, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Requirements:
- Diploma, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in instrumentation maintenance within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or process industry.
- Knowledge of PLC, DCS, and industrial control systems is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
