Role Overview

We are looking for a disciplined and delivery-focused Senior React Native Engineer to join the frontend team working on Eko Xchange, a live crypto/fintech application for iOS and Android.

The role focuses on taking defined product and engineering requirements through implementation, backend/API integration, testing, and release-ready builds. The ideal candidate is comfortable working within a structured, milestone-based environment where deliverables are clearly defined, progress is demonstrated weekly, and quality, documentation, and accountability are expected.

This is a project-based freelance contract with potential for longer-term engagement based on performance and project needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate production-ready React Native features across iOS and Android.
• Integrate backend REST APIs and work closely with backend and QA teams to validate end-to-end functionality.
• Implement core crypto/fintech flows including wallet, buy, sell, send, receive, swap, transaction history, authentication, notifications, and related user journeys.
• Implement blockchain asset and network integrations, including BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, Solana, and other supported assets as defined by the product scope.
• Implement secure wallet interaction and transaction flows.
• Handle loading, empty, error, offline, validation, timeout, processing, success, and failure states properly.
• Maintain clean, scalable state management and feature/module architecture.
• Follow established UI/UX designs and maintain consistency across the application.
• Integrate APIs progressively as backend services become available and clearly identify dependencies or blockers.
• Produce working iOS and Android builds throughout development, including regular TestFlight builds for iOS and Android builds for QA and review.
• Support iOS development and build workflows using Xcode and TestFlight.
• Participate in weekly planning, progress checkpoints, and Friday demo/review sessions.
• Break assigned work into clear tasks and provide realistic estimates before implementation.
• Conduct developer-level validation before handing work over to QA.
• Resolve defects identified through QA and regression testing.
• Maintain progressive documentation of implementation decisions, API integrations, technical dependencies, and known limitations.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-transfer activities.
• Maintain disciplined Git practices, including meaningful commits, branching, pull requests, and reviews.

Required Technical Skills

• 3+ years of professional React Native/mobile development experience.
• Demonstrable experience delivering production applications on both iOS and Android.
• Strong React Native and JavaScript/TypeScript skills.
• Experience building and distributing iOS applications using Xcode and TestFlight.
• Experience with Android build and release workflows.
• Strong experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data flows.
• Strong state-management experience (Redux, Zustand, or equivalent).
• Experience implementing authentication and secure application flows.
• Experience working with wallet-based, fintech, payments, financial, or transaction-based applications.
• Experience handling complex transaction states, validation, API failures, retries, and edge cases.
• Understanding of mobile performance optimization and production debugging.
• Strong Git/GitHub workflow discipline.
• Experience working with structured feature/module-based application architecture.
• Experience integrating blockchain/Web3 APIs or blockchain-related functionality.

Crypto/blockchain product experience is a strong advantage.

• Able to provide written task breakdowns, dependencies, and estimates before committing to timelines.
• Delivers against agreed weekly commitments and milestone requirements.
• Consistently participates in scheduled planning, checkpoint, and demo sessions.
• Proactively communicates blockers, risks, and potential timeline impact.
• Does not abruptly disengage during an active sprint or milestone.
• Follows agreed development, Git, QA, documentation, and handover processes.
• Comfortable receiving code review, QA feedback, and technical direction.
• Takes ownership of assigned deliverables from implementation through validation and handover.
• Understands that code completion does not automatically constitute deliverable acceptance.

• Initial 3-month project-based freelance contract.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: ₦300,000.00 - ₦400,000.00 per month
