Chartered Accountant jobs in Lagos

Elyon Global Shipping Limited is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant to support the company's financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, maintain accurate financial records, and provide financial insights to support business decisions.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Finance/CFO.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Manage general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, statutory regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• Oversee tax computations, filings, and statutory remittances, including VAT, WHT, and Companies Income Tax.
• Support budgeting, financial forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial transactions.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and implement recommendations arising from audit findings.
• Maintain effective internal controls and identify opportunities for improving financial processes.
• Prepare financial reports and analyses for management decision-making.
• Perform other finance-related responsibilities assigned by the Director of Finance/CFO.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ICAN).
• Minimum of five (5) years of post-ICAN qualification experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial management.
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Nigerian tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and audit coordination.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or a related industry will be an added advantage.
